On April 19, 2015, donors rolled up their sleeves once more during a united blood drive in Florida. Through a united effort, the members made the 422nd Worldwide Blood Drive to Give Life Through the Love of Passover a success. Together with One Blood, donors from the Church of God’s various Florida locations met in Leesburg, FL.

At about 9 a.m., three mobile blood donation buses—or the big red buses as some like to call them—rolled into the Church parking lot. Church members from Orlando, Jacksonville, Pensacola and even Miami gathered on Sunday morning with a firm resolution in mind. Blood shortages have become increasingly prevalent throughout the United States. Nevertheless, the members of the Church of God gathered to change this. As a result, in only about 5 hours, the blood center collected enough units of blood to save 450 lives.

One Blood granted the Church of God an award as a token of appreciation for the members’ great donation efforts.

The Church of God traditionally holds blood drives around the time of the Passover. The Passover is a feast of God through which Jesus gave us His blood for the forgiveness of sins. Church members always look forward to this time of year as it’s a great opportunity to do good for others. Since Christ saved us through His blood, Church donors strive to do the same for others. Though it is a small sacrifice in comparison to Christ’s sacrifice, the members believe they can have the greatest impact when they donate all together. This was surely on display on Sunday.

The World Mission Society Church of God consistently holds blood drives all throughout the world in an effort to share the love of God the Mother with their neighbors and families. The Church of God has been recognized numerous times by various local, state and national officials. This time, the Church received a token of appreciation from the One Blood donation center for their timely donations.
